Jessica, but call me Jess!
Pronouns: she/her
Jess is currently a Web Project Manager in Web Services at Georgetown University (GU). She is the lead project manager (PM) for GU WordPress NextGen.
The GU WordPress NextGen project blends two codebases to create a new custom WordPress theme, 1789, for University websites and a plugin that houses new and refactored custom Gutenberg Editor blocks for the University’s websites.
In addition, as a project manager, she collaborates with the other PMs, designers, and developers, as well as maintains projects’ scopes and timelines. She assesses a project’s progress and keeps the project moving forward through preparing, scheduling, and leading meetings and working sessions. Lastly, she represents Web Services on content editors’ projects as a project manager and occasionally as a UX consultant.
She has an M.S. in User-Centered Design from Brandeis University and a B.A. in History with a minor in Digital Studies from the University of Mary Washington.
Outside of work (technically still inside at the moment), she enjoys attending concerts (pre-COVID), keeping up on tv shows, and playing Animal Crossing New Horizons, which has been a great distraction during quarantine! Most importantly, she is an enthusiastic dog mom to her lovely Westie, Sophie.
